About Josh Schwartz

Where It Started

From Athlete to Coach

Growing up, I played everything: football as a quarterback and receiver, basketball as a guard, pretty much anything that got me outdoors and running around. I loved being on a team and competing with my friends. I watched my parents exercise every day, and that made me want to stay active in whatever way possible.

Around 15 or 16, I started paying more attention to my body image and wanted to improve it. I hit the gym more seriously, started watching what I was eating, and picked up more cardio. My parents helped keep me on the right track. That's when I really took things to the next level. I never looked back.

In high school, I fell in love with weightlifting specifically. I took that under my belt, kept going, and eventually got into bodybuilding. In 2024, I competed in men's physique and a classic bodybuilding show. That experience really showed me the level of discipline required to make it in this sport, and it fueled my drive to keep pushing.

Credentials

Education & Experience

I went to school for this because I wanted to enhance my own knowledge. Going through a Kinesiology track, you learn about hormones, about what's actually going on in your body when you exercise, things you wouldn't learn just by Googling stuff on the internet.

Degree in Kinesiology

University of Central Florida (UCF)

Comprehensive study of human movement, exercise physiology, hormones, and the science behind why training and nutrition work the way they do.

Certified Personal Trainer

Licensed & Certified

Certified to train clients one-on-one, with years of hands-on experience across all fitness levels and goals.

Physical Therapy Background

Rehab-Based Training

My background in physical therapy means I'm versatile in creating exercises that are rehab-based but can also be used for strength progression. This is especially valuable for in-person clients working with bands, dumbbells, and bodyweight movements.

Competitive Bodybuilder

Men's Physique & Classic Bodybuilding (2024)

Competed on stage to test myself and see what it takes at the highest level. That experience showed me the discipline required to be a pro, and it drives me to keep improving both for myself and for every client I work with.

My Approach

What I Believe & How I Work

You have to want to make the change or else you won't get it. If you're willing to commit, I'll build the roadmap, hold you accountable, and adjust the plan every step of the way.

No Nonsense Approach

I'll be straight with you. If a goal isn't realistic, I'll say so, and we'll build a plan that actually works. Honesty upfront saves wasted months down the road.

Every Body Is Different

Physique, body composition, metabolism, lifestyle. A hundred variables set you apart. I don't believe in templates. Your response to training and nutrition is unique, so your program has to be too.

Milestones, Not Magic

Wanting to lose 50 pounds is a goal. Aiming for a pound a week is the plan. I break every long-term target into short-term checkpoints so you can see progress happening and stay motivated through the long haul.

Form Before Everything

Prioritize form over weight. Always. Take your time, respect recovery, and master the movement before you chase heavier loads. These fundamentals compound over time and keep you training injury-free for years.

The 4-Step Process

Here's exactly what working together looks like, from the first call to the last check-in.

01

Get To Know You

Questionnaire and conversation: your height, weight, activity level, available gym days, current diet, and end goal. The plan has to fit your life or it won't stick.

02

Build Your Custom Plan

I design a training and nutrition program built around your body, your schedule, and how many calories you burn at rest and in the gym. No templates, no copy-paste.

03

Execute & Adapt

You'll have a schedule and clear targets. As results come in, the plan evolves. Training intensity shifts, nutrition goes up or down. I'm constantly adjusting the variables so you keep moving forward.

04

Stay Accountable

Progress pictures, weigh-ins, and at least one check-in call a week. My phone is open 24/7 for training questions, diet questions, and form checks. Accountability is the difference between three weeks of effort and a real transformation.
