Frequently Asked

Common questions about training, nutrition, and how I work. If your question isn't here, reach out directly. I'm happy to chat.

Training

Do I need a gym membership?
For online coaching, ideally you're already going to the gym or ready to start. For in-person training, I can come to your home and work with bands, dumbbells, and bodyweight exercises. No gym required. I can also meet you at your gym as your guest. Check out the Services page for more details on each option.
What does a typical training week look like?
It depends on your schedule and goals. Most of my clients train 3–5 days per week with a mix of resistance training and strategic cardio. If you're just getting started, the biggest mistake I see is doing too much too soon. I wrote about how to ease in the right way in Why Beginners Do Too Much (And How to Actually Start).
I'm a complete beginner. Is that okay?
Absolutely. A lot of my clients started with zero gym experience. We start with the basics: proper form, foundational movements, and building habits. There's no judgement and no pressure to lift heavy on day one. Everyone starts somewhere.
How do you handle plateaus?
Plateaus are normal. Every client hits them. A lot of times the issue is that people are trying to figure it out alone without the right guidance. Having a coach who can spot the real problem and adjust your plan makes all the difference. I break down why solo approaches fail in The Real Reason You Can't Lose Weight on Your Own.

Nutrition

What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies?
Every nutrition plan is 100% customized to you. Whether you're vegan, gluten-free, have allergies, or just have foods you hate, your plan works around all of it. No templates.
How much protein do I actually need?
For anyone training regularly, the research points to 0.8–1.0 grams per pound of body weight per day. But hitting that number once in a while isn't enough. Consistency is everything. I explain why in Protein Every Single Day: The One Thing You Can't Skip.
Do I need to meal prep?
You don't need to, but having a sustainable plan matters more than any single meal. I'm a big believer in slow, steady fat loss rather than crash dieting. I explain my approach in The Half-Pound Rule: Why I Never Rush Weight Loss.

Commitment & Results

How long until I see results?
After the first month, you'll feel the changes: more energy, better sleep, stronger in the gym. Around that two to three month mark is when you'll really start noticing the visual results. Ideally I want you losing about one pound a week, which adds up fast.
Am I locked into a contract?
I ask for a 2-month minimum on online coaching. That's where real results start showing and where you'll know if this is working. After that, it's month-to-month. In-person training is billed per session, so no commitment required. Check the Services & Pricing page for all the details on plans.
What if I'm not seeing results?
If you're putting in the work and not seeing results, that's on me to fix, not you. A lot of the time the issue is that people are focused on one big number instead of tracking real progress. I teach my clients to set short-term milestones that actually keep them moving forward. Read more about that approach here: Stop Thinking About 50 Pounds. Think About Next Month..
How is this different from other online coaches?
Most online coaches give you a template plan and check in once a month if you're lucky. I build everything from scratch for your body and your life. You get my personal phone number, weekly video calls, form reviews, and constant adjustments. I don't take on more clients than I can give 100% attention to.
What separates the clients who get results from those who don't?
Discipline. Plain and simple. The ones who transform are the ones who show up even when they don't feel like it. I competed in bodybuilding in 2024 and it taught me firsthand what that kind of commitment looks like. I share those lessons here: What Competing in Bodybuilding Taught Me About Discipline.
